My First Mini Pinscher and i have no idea if i should give her booties for Outside.I live in Mtl,Canada. It gets pretty Chilly,especially this past week.She’s Fully Trained on Pie Pads..Now,It’s Time to Go Outside!I tried once in front of my door,,SHE LOVES the SNOW lol.But Her Whole Body Shakes and she keeps pulling her paws up and down( instinct of cold).I Know She needs a little Jacket or Coat.But What About Booties??Ive seen many videos on Youtube..dn’t think they seem to enjoy it..or is it just their first time using them..they look like their having a hard time.I feel Cruel..i mean..they ARE dogs..not Humans.Gosh i can’t wait for the Lovely Weather to come again :P..

I do have booties for my dog, she is also a MIN PIN, but the only thing is that they will have to get use to them one at a time, dont force them on your dog right away.
she love the snow but hates to stand out side she does get to the point where she wont walk b/c she is SO cold.
your not cruel to put these on them your jsut making them feel better and go easier outside. same with jackets, smaller dogs do better with jackets & booties.

Anyone know anything about bucked shins?
I am pretty sure my horse has bucked shins. He is 4 and the front of both legs are very swolen, when they have ice on them or are well bandaged the swelling goes down. He is not lame either. I am box resting him and walking him in hand at the moment, I brought him off the tracks so think he was raced a lot. Does anyone know anything about it? and how long till i can ride him? How long will it last? Will it go with age? Thanks
Have you contacted a vet yet? The vet should be able to help. My horse’s leg swelled up once; the vet said he had an infection. She put something (like Icy Hot for horses) on his leg, wrapped it, and told me to change the wrap one time. The next week, he was back to normal.

If you horses legs are swollen first off i would contact your vet as soon as possible. Also look for any open or small wounds or abrasions that might have caused the swelling. Keep ice and if you can hose them off until your vet gets there

I’d contact a vet and get them out to look at the horse. That sounds like it has potential to be serious; it’s not worth the risk just to save a bit of money. Imagine if it just gets worse, and you can never ride him.
Especially if he’s off the track, it could be an old injury.
It’s pretty much impossible for us to make a diagnosis online, especially without pictures.

Does my old best friend hate me?
My so called best friend of 3 years, has been treating me like dirt. reasons why:
1. She puts down everything I enjoy and love and calls it stupid, even the music I listen to.
2. She will ditch me for this other girl that I am friends with also, but just leaves me standing there
3. She tries to act way smarter than me even though she really isn’t
4. She will try to trip me to make me look like a fool even though shes trying to be funny (i would never ever do that to a friend)
5. When people complement me she will say oh no that’s me! Example I don’t have alot of common sense and I hate saying that I don’t then she’s like oh no I am the blonde.
6. She treats like my bffl like pretty much crap when I am standing right beside my her.
7. Plus when I am like trying to talk to boys she is always interrupting me

she’s being really mean to you and it sounds like you’re not even doing anything wrong. maybe your friend wants to move on with the friendship, but if she is she didn’t choose a great way to show it. i’d talk to her and see what’s up. if she doesn’t give you a sufficient answer, you should move on too. she doesn’t deserve having you as a friend if she’s mean and annoying

did you put this up twice? smart idea haha but i hate my old best friend.. sorry but just ignore her. have a party and don’t invite her. invite the boys she steals and then you can talk to them then, even if your just having them over to watch a movie or play board games.. she will realize how rude she was and be really nice. bt make sure at the party to invite girls too. oh i knew my best friend for 12 years… so ya good luck

All black suit ? What tie to go with it ?
Hi eveybody !
I’ve got to suit up this Saturday (practice job interviews on the horizon), and I’ve only done this a couple of times before (I’m 20), so I am not an expert. I already have a nice black suit.
The two other times i wore a suit, I opter for the classic combination : black suit + white shirt + black tie.
The only thing is that people around me told me this was not a good combination for job interviews (or such things), that I looked like an undertaker’s assistant or like a mafioso (Reservoir dogs style).
So this time i consider wearing a black suit and a black shirt (people say it is a good combination for young people with my complexion - i have blond hair- ). What kind of tie would go along with this ? I thought about a dark grey one.
But i’m affraid the whole thing is gonna be too dark.
I also thought about another combination : black suit + blue shirt + black tie.
But it might look a bit classical and older (maybe better when you’re in your 30’s).
So i’m all ears !

Black tie with black suit conveys a conservative personality. Depending on the job, select an appropriate tie. Stripe tie with bright colors tells people you are confident, red tie says you’re in control, and have a dominate personality. I would go with a solid pastel tie. A white shirt always works, however if the interview is with a artsy-fartsy type company, a pastel shirt with a paisley tie is something to consider.

how do I clean my alternator?
My car broke down a couple of months ago, the alternator had stopped working & the car just died..the breakdown guy knocked the alternator with a hammer & it worked for about a month with no problems. Then the battery light would come on every now & then, but I just knocked the alternator with a hammer & it would be ok. But now the battery light comes on every time I start the engine & it’s taking several knocks of the hammer to put it right. I’m guessing it’s either the brushes or the springs that push out the brushes out that are dirty & sticking. I can’t afford to take it to a garage at the moment, so how do I clean my alternator?.. is it a big job?…will I have to take it all apart?… any ideas?.. please help..thanks.
Ya, you gotta take it all apart. If you do decide to tackle it, be careful & maybe even take pictures every time you take something apart. It is a pain in the rear-end if you’re not familiar with how they go together. Then theres the problem of if something inside needs to be replaced & not just cleaned, Then your in a worse place. Best bet if you’re short on funds is find a used one & take it to a parts store that does free electrical checks.

The brushes are probably worn to nothing. The bearings will be going bad, the springs will be weak and the whole thing will be gummed up. Save yourself a dozen repairs that won’t last long anyhow and just spring for a rebuilt alternator.

Yes it is quite a task to "clean" an alternator. the bearings and contacts are about the only things you will be able to service abut that would leave the windings and the diodes as well as the rectifier which would be old.
Why not get a replacement from a breakers yard they will normally give you a short warranty and you will not have to "HIT" the alternator to make it work.
Each time you hit it you could be deforming the shape and soon the armature may contact the windings and cause it to jam then you will be stuck.
Cleaners that evaporate away when used are the best but your alternator sounds like it is on it’s last legs. change it it will be easier and cheaper in the long run

You can try spraying it with wd40, it might loosen it up temporarily but it might damage it in the long run.
The problem is more likely the bearings in the alternator are worn out and gets stuck. The hammering loosens it and just allows it to turn until it seiezes again. Not sure if alternator has brushes to begin with. Electric motors have brushes but not alternators.
I never really heard of people cleaning their alternator. If you already know the alternator is the problem, then just get cheap remanufactured alternator and replace it yourself. You already save money on labor cost, plus you get the warranty on the part since you purchased it.

buy a used one from a dismantler or breaker rebuilding them requires special tools and pullers although you can buy brush kits for replacing them

Your alternator has contact coals - small pieces of technical coal mounted on little springs.
These gets worn down as you drive your car. If they are really worn down to that very last bit - it stops working all together. These do not cost much, buy and change yourself. It is quite easy, check your library for a repair manual. These parts look the same on all cars - so any repair manual will do just fine.
Also your alternator is connected to the body of your car, it is "grounded" in the body. Sometimes a simple thing as removing the alternator and cleaning up the surface where it connects to the body can help.
