What order should I watch the 22 James bond films?
Before last month I’d never seen a 007 movie…. I don’t like to jump into series all willie nilly… But after my roomate convinced me that they were random except for casino royale and quantom of solice I saw them both and relized cr was 007’s 1st mission so which movies should I watch next to see James grow as an agent…. Ian’s only wrote 12 books but there’s 22 movies…. The 7movies before cr aren’t ian’s book are they short stories or books buy other authers? Are they in order? I need an expert on the subject
You can watch them first to last
Or you can watch the Sean Connery ones first

Truthfully, the rest of the Bond films don’t have much character development. The only ones that do are Dr. No, Goldfinger, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (he gets married in that), and MAYBE "You Only Live Twice". Other than that, any order is fine.

Dr. No (1962-Sean Connery)
From Russia With Love (1963-Sean Connery)
Goldfinger (1964-Sean Connery)
Thunderball (1965-Sean Connery)
You Only Live Twice (1967-Sean Connery)
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969-George Lazenby)
Diamonds Are Forever (1971-Sean Connery)
Live and Let Die (1973-Roger Moore)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974-Roger Moore)
The Spy Who Loved Me (1977-Roger Moore)
Moonraker (1979-Roger Moore)
For Your Eyes Only (1981-Roger Moore)
Octopussy (1983-Roger Moore)
A View to a Kill (1985-Roger Moore)
The Living Daylights (1987-Timothy Dalton)
Licence to Kill (1989-Timothy Dalton)
GoldenEye (1995-Pierce Brosnan)
Tomorrow Never Dies (1997-Pierce Brosnan)
The World is Not Enough (1999-Pierce Brosnan)
Die Another Day (2002-Pierce Brosnan)
Casino Royale (2006-Daniel Craig)
Quantum of Solace (2008-Daniel Craig)
"Bond 23" (2011-Daniel Craig)
Here they are in the offcial order, but my favorite ones are the ones with Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig. Craig puts a different twist on Bond that I really like, there seems to be more action.

Pre Daniel Craig it doesn’t matter much BUT I suggest you go chronologically. The reason being the character changes a little bit based on the era the movie was made and the way the actors play the part. Roger Moore plays Bond much differently than Sean Connery and so on.
My personal favorites are:
Goldfinger. Probably the best of them all.
License to Kill: Bond at his most dangerous and deadly.
Live and Let Die: Moore’s first (and best). Has voodoo !
The fun part is that everyone has their favorite Bond.
I’m partial to Sean Connery BUT Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan were excellent as well. I don’t like Roger Moore’s Bond so much.
There’s also the original Casino Royale from 1967. It’s a comedy - a spoof. very silly.
The first actor to play Bond was Barry Nelson in a British series called "Climax". The episode was "Casino Royale".

Watch them in the order the films were made, but skip the weaker films. Then you can come back to them later, only if you’ve become a hardcore Bond fan and feel the need to watch every film.
SKIP THESE, come back to them later if necessary.
You Only Live Twice (1967-Sean Connery)
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service (1969-George Lazenby)
Diamonds Are Forever (1971-Sean Connery)
The Man with the Golden Gun (1974-Roger Moore)
Moonraker (1979-Roger Moore)
Octopussy (1983-Roger Moore)
Never Say Never Again (1983-Sean Connery)
A View to a Kill (1985-Roger Moore)
The World is Not Enough (1999-Pierce Brosnan)
Die Another Day (2002-Pierce Brosnan)

Ok, technically Casino Royale was the original Bond story (by the books), but I think you need to START with Dr. No. The (movie) story starts there. I believe that the (Casino Royale) storyline is a recent rebirth of Bond (anyone that is 007 is named James Bond, to keep family members out of anything). Actually, it doesn’t matter what order you watch them in, the story doesn’t really cross over (except the whole SPECTRE thing, I guess you need to watch Connery films in order). Don’t forget the unofficial Bond movie "Never Say Never Again", it is a remake of "Thunderball", but has a connection to the story, if only in a funny way. I enjoy it anyway.
